His Prescribed Treatment Plan

February 6, 2019

Every day in my office, I see multiple patients that need dental treatment. Their needs range from minor problems to major dental needs. After my examination, I always give a report or summary of my findings (their problems) to the patient. After a thorough explanation of my findings, I always give the patient options for their treatment. I try to give as many options as possible and let my patients know that the treatment options vary in difficulty, price, and length of treatment time. I want my patient to leave the office with the confidence that I gave them the best treatment options and price options. I want to give them an option of Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, and so on; so that, my patients feel comfortable and informed about their oral healthcare needs from just regular maintenance to very complicated treatment.

I also know that we all have spiritual needs. I know that we have a deep-seated spiritual need in our soul that needs to be filled. As I have studied God’s word, I have learned some amazing things about Him and us as well. One thing that I have learned, is that we all are sinners in need of a Savior. Romans 3:23 NKJV states “23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”  So, we all have been diagnosed with a sin problem. And the first part of Romans 6:23 states, “23 For the wages of sin is death.” Now I also understand that the prognosis for this diagnosis is not good. But the good Lord provides a way for us to turn around the prognosis of death through His Son. Romans 5:8 NKJV says, “8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” And the second part of Romans 6:23 NKJV states, “but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Wow, without Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are spiritually bankrupt. But God loves us SO much that He sent His Son to die, pay our sin debt, and give eternal life to those who believe in Him. But there is only one option for eternal life with Him and that is to choose Him. The Bible says in Acts 4:12 NKJV, “12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Also, Romans 10:13 NKJV states “13 For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Even Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Now, please allow me to summarize what I have learned. One, we have a spiritual problem just like we have physical problems. Secondly, the prognosis (outcome) for our spiritual condition is not favorable at all without help. Finally, the only help is the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other option for eternal life with Him but to choose Jesus. So, unlike my dental office, where we offer many options for patients, there is only One option for Salvation. There is NO PLAN B.
